SEPARATION. A dog, any size - any age, can be kept in a separate room while entertaining guests or doing a project for which canine assistance is not needed.  We recommend boredom busters such as toys or something to do, water dish, dog bed for quiet comfort.  You’ll discover soon enough if pooch is unhappy, owner is unhappy.  This type of separation also offers more space than a crate while you are home.  Your dog may respond well to a Crate or Portable Kennel placed inside the area, offering a seclusion option within the gate.

PET SAFETY. Safety fences for the elderly; has your pup become a senior citizen before your eyes? Incontinence makes this basic pet supply come full circle. Yet again you can save the carpets from accidents. Prevent your buddy from attempting to climb up the steps. Stairways can be blocked from a puppy climbing up to find trouble, or an elder dog trying to act like the pup he once was by flying down.

BARRICADE. TIPS: Convinced but unsure of what to purchase among all choices of dog gates?  Here are some helpful hints, some learned by personal experience.

1. Confirm your location is desirable and practical.  Measure width of area whether it’s wall-to-wall or a doorway. Measure height of dog; consider the size of dog relative to height of gate.


2. Design of gate depends on the high traffic area.  Look for durability and safety.  Wooden gates make for an un-welcomed teether toy for puppy. If your dog is a chewer, choose a good quality plastic or better yet, metal.  Easy-to-use is a biggie since you’ll operate this several times a day depending on your situation.  Fancy details equal crevices for dog hair and dirt, consider how easy it will be to clean your new gate.


3. Permanent or temporary style of gate?  Temporary will give you more flexibility to move it from a doorway or entrance way.  For a higher traffic area, a wise investment in a more permanent fixture may be what you want. This convenient gate provides the feature of easy open and close.  This style will also protect the walls of constant bumping; resulting in slipping and damaging paint or wallpaper.
