EXERCISE PENS

PENS for DOG EXERCISE?  Ohh, it’s an enclosure, a temporary pet corral.  We still have to lace up the sneaks, grab the leash and the little plastic bag for our daily walks.  Ahh, but maybe, just maybe, this popular dog supplies basic essential can offer us owners some privacy, if only for a little while.

Popular ex-pens are recommended for small – medium pets. Can this self-containment be used for animals other than dogs?  Traditionally, this is a dog show handler and puppy breeder essential.  That said; we learned many critters are easily confined to safe quarters.  With various spacing and gauges of wired panels, as well as various construction materials, yes, you too will find these pens are not just for canine. Benefits of investment are numerous.

Dog Exercise Pens: Popular for being a versatile barricade for pet play and owner privacy, indoor and outdoor.

Owners of strong, larger breeds already at adult full-size should now click over to Dog Kennels.  Although larger to assemble, kennels offer dogs space within a more sturdy wire.  Some portable, some are semi-permanent.

Back to exercise.  Yes, the name is a bit deceiving.  While it’s true, little feet may get more movement within the spatial limits, for a healthy lifestyle, dog pens aren’t designed to consistently replace walks and playtime with you.

Indoors. If you already have a puppy, (or one that believes he is) exercise isn’t the only reason you’re looking for a barricade or containment.  Let's keep 'em out of trouble.  ‘Nough said.

Pet traveling? Easily portable; Fold and go.  Destinations are less of a burden (for everyone involved) having a play space for the dog.  Visit family/friends, with/without pets of their own, while respecting property.

Health care.  Post-op recovery requires rest from normal activity.  This may include environmental protection (stairs, furniture) or seclusion from other pets.  Dog pens do offer a roomy place for comfortable positions in a controlled environment.

Outdoors. A yard for pets; now we’re barkin’.  Go bigger; add more panels.  Connect exercise pens for spacious playtime with another dog.  A canopy will provide shelter. Ground stakes help prevent tip-over.

After bath. Nothing like wet dog.  Worse is wet dog flinging water and fur everywhere.  Set up a centralized location for after bath.  This gives you time to clean up, not following the shaking beast with a towel and brush.

TIPS: Measure your pet standing on hind legs; purchase a pen or kennel higher to avoid a jumper’s escape.  Features to look for would be rust-free wires, metal bottoms that won't scratch indoor flooring, easy clean soft-sided play pens.

Want some play time for yourself?  If the pet is acting like an animal, find privacy with dog exercise pens.
