Alternatives & Options?
Aren't Crates (see article) and Carriers (see article) the safest for transporting pets? Show handlers have crates for their dogs, right? Yes. That is true. Finding crash-tested car seats surprise us, too.
There actually are security features in some of these booster car seats. Some have safety leashes and connecting straps for the seatbelt to join your vehicle harness connection. The harness and the strap do offer security. Impressive innovation.
In the front. In the back. Up high. Down low.
The dog is in the car seat and the owner is too slow. Pet car seats boost up to a 40-pound dog, some elevating up to 10 inches with fastening support straps. Straps complicated? Not at all. Don't want straps? There are designs supporting the booster from below. Give 'em a large, roomy space to stretch out with a head prop to cruise around in luxury.
Containment for Contentment.
Pet travel containment is expected when the driver is not alone. How many passengers, pet-less or not, appreciate paws-a-leaping from one lap to another? It will be your friend's last vacation road trip with you unless you get that darling puppy a car seat of his own.
