The greater the density of foam material of choice, the greater the support. This material disperses and reduces pressure on tender elbows and hips. The greater the support the more workmanship is involved.

Obviously, the type of foam material used and/or the combination of size and features effects investment. Specialty beds heat or cool within a layer of comfort.

Size-n-Shape.
An orthopedic dog bed is not a one size fits all. Bigger is not necessarily more comfy, neither is purchasing smaller to save money. Yes, you do need to measure your dog while he is in a normal sleeping position.

It is recommended to add 12" to the area covered and you have the proper fit for your new orthopedic bed.

Shape matters. Choosing between rectangle, oval, or round depends on how your dog prefers to slumber. For the head propping pooch, wrap around bolsters or side pillows are attached.
